[SDCPJ] Monthly MFSO (Military Families Speak Out) San Diego Chapter meeting

Hello Everyone:

It is that time again for our MFSO (Military Families Speak Out) San Diego County monthly meeting. This will be our 2nd meeting, we skipped September with my son, Dan and my son in law Matt coming home from Iraq. They have been well feed and mom

has had lots of time catching up with both of them, and celebrating their return!

MFSO has over 3,400 families as members in the United States, with chapters in 40 states. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Please come and join us, get involved, let us support each other.

Here in San Diego County is the home of 16 military facilities, the United States Navy, the United States Coast Guard, and the United States Marine Corps. Unlike the chapters to the north of us, San Diego does not have the 'liberal' flavor such as Orange County, Santa Barbara etc. San Diego county is also the has the largest number of military veterans in the WHOLE country, more than 260,000.

For this reason we have to be able to identify that our goals may have to be a little different then other chapters of MFSO.

Are we letter writers, sign carriers, or do we concentrate our energy meeting with all the Congressional officials who represent us here? I am doubting we are sign carriers.

We need to have our voices heard, whether it be the MULTIPLE DEPLOYMENTS of our husbands, boyfriends, daughters, sons, or other family members. We must make sure that when our loved ones are deployed they have all

the EQUIPMENT they need, whether it be the best body armor, MRAP's, and other equipment. Also a top priority is

to make sure they are well taken care of when they come home. The Veterans Health Administration needs to be FULLY FUNDED along with the recently passed 21st Century GI Bill.

This is the United States of America! We have the best military in the world. These young men and women DESERVE the best we have to give them. We need to speak for them, and keep ALL THE POLITICIANS feet to the fire. WE AS MILITARY FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE THAT POWER.
