March 2009 will mark the 6th anniversary of the United State's invasion of Iraq. To draw attention to this, The Ray Street Annex Open Studio Night will feature work related to the Iraq war, and other wars in general.
First, the work of Los Angeles photographer Stevi Carroll, this month's visiting artist. Carroll will be showing a selection of her anti-war and pro-peace photography taken at sites as various as a peace protest in Pasadena, CA to Hiroshima, Japan. Framed work, prints and cards will be available for sale.
Also featured: Anne Wolf will show a selection of her mixed-media memorial wall pieces, her "Patriot" silver belt, and will have memorial pins available for purchase (half of purchase price will be donated to Amnesty International).
