THE PROBLEM: We know the problem! Corporate capitalism and the crimes of the ruling class have   devastated the lives of tens of millions.     Monopoly capitalism brought us record unemployment, housing foreclosures, plant closures, millions without health insurance, budget crisis, educational crisis and ultimately a planetary ecological crisis.  Congress & the Obama administration has surrendered to Wall Street with trillions going to corporate bailouts, while the working class, youth, immigrants and communities of color get hung out. For the first time in a generation millions of Americans have lost faith in capitalism and are open to political alternatives.

THE SOLUTION: How often do we really discuss fundamental social solutions?  We need a revolutionary rethinking of our economy and societal structure.    We need dialogue about an entirely new paradigm, a total transformation.   Unity, leadership and organization on the left has never been more critical.

Right-wing radio hosts scream about Obama the ‘socialist’.                           We’d like a real socialist to stand up and tell it like it is.

For generations the left and the socialist left has been the nerve center for most of the progressive organizing and social change that has occurred in this and other countries.  While this continues to be true, it is also fair to say that the left and socialist forces have been disorganized and ineffective.  And the left has done plenty of damage to Itself and caused some of its own isolation and disunity.

What will it take to rebuild the left and rebuild the types of organizations, which will rally working people to the struggle for social justice?  What can we learn from the Zapatistas, the Brazilian Workers Party, the South Africans and countless others around the world?  What will it take to build the program and the unity necessary to challenge the capitalist class structure and eventually transform our society?
