This Saturday, place non perishable foods next to your mail box and your letter carrier will pick it up as part of the annual food drive.
The National Association of Letter Carriers is pleased to announce that its annual food drive will be held Saturday, May 8 at the San Diego Food Bank.
Bring the entire family and/or a team of co-workers to this wonderful event, which collects more than 150,000 pounds of canned food for the community of San Diego.
Food collected at this food drive will be distributed throughout the year by the Department of Labor Participation, AFL-CIO Community Services. Support organized labor and your fellow union members by volunteering. 300 volunteers are needed to help unload and sort food.
Volunteers are needed at the San Diego Food Bank (9850 Distribution Avenue in Miramar) starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, as well as at select Post Offices throughout the county.
For more information or to RSVP, please call Ruby Featherly at (619) 641-0068.
**Dinner for Food Bank volunteers will be served at 7 p.m.**
