March 23-25, 2012 — United National Antiwar Coalition Conference Hilton Hotel, Stamford, CT—one Metro North commuter line stop from NYC To register, submit workshop proposals, or plenary resolutions go to https://www.unacpeace.org/ In the last several weeks the U.S. government made it abundantly clear that a Pentagon combat troop drawdown in Iraq means anything but peace. U.S. troops are being newly deployed in Kuwait and on ships in the Gulf. Pakistan is being demonized as a new potential target. All of Washington is beating the war drums against Iran. Obama is rushing troops and money to Africa for new and deadly proxy wars. At a conference in the Pacific, the U.S. made clear that it intended a new military escalation in that region to counter its economic rival, China. A new and massive attack on the right to protest war and austerity is under way in the U.S. A newly militarized police force is brutalizing Occupiers and the Senate is legislating the indefinite detention without trial of U.S. citizens and green-card holders alike. More than ever, we need a national assembly of all those fighting U.S./NATO/G8 wars abroad and at home, a gathering in which we all can come together to analyze, deliberate, and democratically vote up a unified action plan for the coming year. Forty educational workshops will cover in-depth issues including: US and NATO military interventions around the Globe—Afghanistan—Pakistan—Occupy Movement —the Arab Spring—the "War on Terror" in Africa—Palestine Solidarity—War on Iran--Occupy Movement—Indefinite Detention—Torture—Guantanamo—Bradley Manning—Islamophobia—Human rights and Labor Rights in South Asia--Women and War—Honduras—Colombia—Mexico—Haiti—War at Home on 99%, including the Unions, Immigrants, Muslim Americans, the Black and Latino Communities—Climate and War—Nuclear Power and Nuclear Weapons—Bring the War Dollars Home Now for Jobs and Education—and much more.
