Important Event On the 63rd Anniversaries of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and UN Resolution 194
Community Discussion and Reception with Spoken Word Artist Mark Gonzales
December 10, and 11, 2011 mark the 63rd anniversaries of the adoption by the
United Nations of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Resolution
194, respectively. UN resolution 194 is significant because it affirmed the
inalienable, natural, legal and historical rights of Palestinian refugees to
return to their homes and lands from which they were dispossessed with the
creation of the state of Israel in Palestine.
To mark these important related anniversaries, Al-Awda San Diego
invites you, your friends and family to join us with widely acclaimed spoken
word artist Mark Gonzales to a community reception and
discussion with Palestinians about their view of the meaning of the right to
return from a personal perspective. The right to return must be implemented
if justice and real peace are to be achieved.
This event is open to the public and will take place at Al-Awda's Palestine
National Center on Saturday December 10, 2011 starting at 7 PM.
Expected among the speakers are survivors of the Nakba, and second and third
generation Palestinians and refugees living in exile from their homeland.
Mark Gonzales will be performing at the event!
Don't miss it!
Admission $5 per person. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Come early on the day of the event, as space is limited.
