2013 WORK-A-THON FOR
PEACE and SOCIAL JUSTICE

Saturday, May 18, starting at 9:00 AM

 

A day of community service in support of affordable student housing and two peace organizations

 

THERE ARE TWO WAYS YOU CAN HELP:

 

1.  VOLUNTEER for a day of community service at the nonprofit Wesley House Student Residence, which provides affordable housing and other support for low-income and special needs students at SDSU. Residents include 1st-generation college students and foster youths. Wesley House gives them help that will enable them to succeed at school and in life. Volunteers also get sponsors who match their labor with donations benefiting Project YANO and the Peace Resource Center. See below to register (deadline May 8).

 

2. SPONSOR a volunteer worker. Your tax-deductible donation as a sponsor will give encouragement to those donating their labor and also benefit two non-profit groups: the Project on Youth and Non-Military Opportunities (Project YANO) and Peace Resource Center of San Diego. Write your check to PRC/Work-a-thon and mail it to: Peace Resource Center, 3850 Westgate Pl., San Diego, CA 92105.
