Dear friends,
The deadline for registering to participate in the May 18 Work-a-thon for Peace & Justice has passed, but we are still in need of people who can work that day!
Please let us know ASAP if you can spare a few hours to help us paint and do landscape work at the Wesley House Student Residence. This nonprofit residence provides affordable housing for San Diego State University students who, because of their socio-economic status, are underrepresented in higher education. Many of them come from low-income families that have never sent a daughter or son to college. Some of the students were formerly in the foster care system and now have no family support.
If you can join us for this social justice service project on May 18, please email your name, address and phone number to info@prcsd.org, with "work-a-thon" in the subject line.
While participants normally get sponsors to match their day of donated labor with a financial contribution, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE SPONSORS TO PARTICIPATE.
After we hear from you, we will send you detailed information on what to bring and where the project is located. Check-in time will be 9:00-9:30 AM at the work site.
If you have questions, please send them in a reply to this message.
Thanks!!
Rick Jahnkow
