[SDCPJ] Appeal: Support War Resister Kimberly Rivera

Dear Friends,

War resister Kimberly Rivera, http://www.democracynow.org/2013/4/30/kimberly_rivera_pregnant_mom_of_4,

is being held at the Miramar Brig.  She will be giving birth to a baby boy in the next month.

 

A small, local support group has been visiting Kim regularly since last spring.  Kim's husband, Mario, arrived last Thursday with their two youngest children.  With your help we have put together enough money to support their needs while they await the baby's birth and Kim's release.

The plan is to have Mario take custody of the baby once he's born.  They will stay with my husband and me until Kim is released sometime in December.  Then the young family will fly home to Texas.

 

THE APPEAL:

*We are asking for monetary support to help the young family make a fresh start once the Kim is released.

*We also need volunteers that can give the family transportation assistance during their stay.
