This Friday February 28, 2014. Occupy San Diego will be holding their second Gift Drive for San Diego HOUSE-LESS at the San Diego Civic Center Plaza located at 1100 3rd Ave., San Diego from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The mission is to serve the house-less members of San Diego community by providing them with basic necessities. In December 2013, Occupy San Diego served more than 200 people at their first Gift Drive for the HOUSE-LESS event on December 20th. In addition to the items distributed dinner was also served to the attendees.
Donations will be accepted the day of the event and volunteers are welcome to participate in organizing and distribution. Items asked for include: rain gear, warm jackets and sweaters, new undergarments and socks, shoes, gloves, blankets, sleeping bags, tents, personal hygiene items, flashlights with batteries, and backpacks. Occupy pledges that 100% of your donation will be used and given directly to the house-less living on the streets of San Diego. Event starts promptly at 4pm!
