Sisters, brothers and labor supporters,
KNSJ FM and a few of us had discussed some time ago the possibilities of having local labor programming on the station. They have been very preoccupied with a lot of startup matters and local labor has been on the shelf.
Sorry for the short notice (they just did a fund raiser) but the this Thursday, the 17th, KNSJ community general meeting will focus on labor programming. In order for this to be fruitful, we need a turnout of some union members and supporters. We need a broader input than just a couple of us about how to make labor programming attractive to labor and the community.
Most AM & FM talk shows all over the country are right-wing and antiunion as you know. Here is an opportunity to push back. Last Delegates meeting, Hector Saldivar from the CLF spoke to us and asked us to get involved with organizing. The AFT just met in L.A. with a major emphasis on reaching out to communities for support. We have been under attack and cannot pass up opportunities to get our stories, histories and issues out by us.
I hope you will join me to see if we can launch something with KNSJ at 7:00pm. The station is up and running and just needs us.
