May 14th Sunday 9 am to 10 am Fossil fuel Divestment with Dr. Eric Halgren. ST PAUL'S EPISCOPAL CAYHEDRAL 2728 6TH AVE. IN THE GUILD ROOM There is little scientific debate that if Big Oil burns all of their proven fossil fuel reserves, climate change will go from being a significant problem to a devastating one. One way to pressure these companies to leave 80% of these reserves in the ground is through divestment. What is divestment? Where has it succeeded? What are the impacts for investors, both individual and corporate? Might it be appropriate for St. Paul's? These questions will be discussed by Dr. Eric Halgren, Neuroscientist at UCSD, who has been in the middle of efforts to get both UCSD and CALPERS and CALSTIRS to divest. A response will be offered by St. Paul's own Endowment Committee. More info: http://www.stpaulcathedral.org/events/climate-solution-talks/
