CAIR-San Diego, Community Partners to Support Safe Learning Environment for All Students
(SAN DIEGO, CA, 5/24/17) – On Thursday, May 25, the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic-Relations (CAIR-San Diego) will join community partners at a news conference to express support for a safe learning environment for all students following the filing of a lawsuit against the San Diego Unified School District's plan to protect Muslim students from bullying.

hmohebi@cair.com "This lawsuit seems to be an attempt to have the courts enforce growing Islamophobia in our state and nation, and to strip away much-needed protection for Muslim students who face increasing bullying," said CAIR-San Diego Executive Director Hanif Mohebi.
The anti-bullying plan, developed in collaboration with CAIR-San Diego and in alignment with the Safe Place to Learn Act (AB 2845), will focus on the district's plan to address Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslim students and their families.
