Hope all are well and working on your own aspects of peace and justice, in all the ways needed! The purpose of this message is to ask simply for your quick and easy support of a San Diego regional effort, to create a much better, FUNCTIONAL public transportation system for all. All that's needed is your name in support, to build public pressure.
You may have seen recent news about SANDAG, the regional planning/transit planning agency, on how it determined to mislead the public on public taxes raised for transportation projects. I've been working since 2005 with partners to create a detailed plan for a better public transportation system, offered as an alternative to the formal SANDAG Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). This alternative has been developed in detail, and is now "fully baked" with capital and operations components; it is computer modeled and tested. It promises to provide substantially better access, service, and reduce ongoing public subsidy. But, consideration of this alternative has been stonewalled by SANDAG. The alternative is called the Quickway Proposal. Here are Web and Facebook links, if you wish to look into details:

With the revelations about SANDAG there is now an opportunity to break through the stonewalling and actually give the Quickway Proposal fair consideration. But, it will take public pressure on the SANDAG Board and local electeds, to achieve this. The partners I'm working with will do the "heavy lifting" on lobbying these officials. This will not work unless there is a certain level of public support, from individuals and organizations. I ask for your name in support now. If you use Facebook, you can "like" the Quickway Proposal's Facebook page. If not Facebook, we will be creating a Web page where support can be lodged, but for now, please just email me back with your support so I can keep track. But, please don't delay, this needs doing quickly. Please DO pass this on to your networks, and organizations you work with (I'm approaching SD 350 and others, more are needed!)
