CAIR-San Diego to Join the City of San Diego's Human Relations Commission and Partners Celebrating 'Muslim Appreciation Month' MEDIA ADVISORY (SAN DIEGO, CA, 8/16/17) – On Thursday, August 17, the San Diego office of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-SD) will join the San Diego Human Relations Commission and public officials -- including representatives from the State Senate, Assembly and the mayor's office – to present the proclamation recognizing "Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month." Last year, Assemblymember Bill Quirk (D-Hayward) introduced House Resolution 59 to proclaim the month of August as "Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month" and was joined by 61 co-authors. He will be reintroducing the resolution with HR 43 on August 21 with Assemblymembers Ash Kalra and Kansen Chu as co-sponsors.
