Turn Waste Into Organic Fertilizer And Multipurpose Cleanser!
                                                    By Brocade Wu
Make use of fruit and vegetable scraps. Eco Enzyme is generated by fermenting fruits and vegetable scraps with water and brown sugar. (Water - waste - brown sugar ratio 10:3:1) The eco enzyme will neutralize toxins and other pollutants. It can be used as fertilizer for plants, multi-purpose cleanser around house, air purifier, insect repellent, natural antiseptic, car care reagent, and laundry cleaner. It is also effective in unblocking drain pipes clogged with grime. It is totally organic and environmentally friendly. Producing eco enzyme with kitchen garbage reduces waste and harmful carbon emissions, which will help fight climate change. It is also called "garbage enzyme". Eco enzyme was developed by Dr. Rosukon from Thailand. She has been involved in eco enzyme research for more than 30 years and encourages people to make Eco Enzyme at home to combat global warming.

How to make Eco Enzyme:

Add 10 part water to one part brown sugar in a container. Add fruit and vegetable waste as available until it reaches approximately 1/3 of the liquid volume. Use big enough containers so that there will be at least a 1/5 of container space left empty for air after filled with waste. Label the date of seal on jars or buckets. Leave the containers in dark, cool place for at least 3 months. Check & loosen the lids in the first few days to let air escape, otherwise the containers may burst. At the end of 3 months, there is usually a thin layer of white stuff on the top of the solution. The solution can be left longer as it is, or it can be filtered with a strainer. The solids can be further composted or buried in soil as fertilizer. The liquid part can be used in various ways.

Happy making Eco Enzyme and save!!!

Recomended Book

Check out the The End of Nature by Bill McKibben (shown in the photo with Tom Steyer). This book is said to be the first non-scientific book about global warming. In it Bill McKibben, climate activist and one of the founders of 350, talks about the need for a radical change of how nature is treated. This is one of the first calls to action directed not only at politicians but also to all of society.
